In past years camera and sensor development has been the principal driving force within electrial engineering and ranks among the most innovative technologies. One of the main growth areas within the sensor market has been, and still is, the CMOS sensor technology which, among other things, enables read-out and evaluation individual image pixel.

A worldwide leading group in the development and creation of innovation potentials within this technology is the research group at the Fraunhofer Institute for Microelectronic Circuits and Systems in Duisburg, Germany. The scientists working there are backed by many years of research in sensor and camera technology within the CMOS field.

TriDiCam GmbH, founded in 2008 as a spin-off company of the Fraunhofer Institute, set itself the aim of developing novel, robust 3D-CMOS image sensors for worldwide distribution.
